I can actually answer this - being the church historian at my Episcopal church. In the 1800s, often the two churches combined and then one or the other would remain dominant and the other would disappear. The original name of our church was Christ Church - a methodist/episcopal.

I'm not quite to the middle of my total years, married for a very long time (to the same man), raising more kids, learning new skills, loving my friends, enjoying my life!
